Swedish massage involves long strokes using light-to-firm pressure. This style generally provides a more relaxing experience, but the pressure may not be enough for some people. In contrast, deep tissue massage applies much more pressure to release tension deep within the muscles and fascia.

Ashiatsu massage, also known as barefoot massage, is a massage technique where therapists use their feet to apply deep compression, long gliding strokes, and assisted stretching to the client's body. Ashiatsu allows for a greater amount of pressure to be applied by the therapist, via a broader application tool, making it a great choice for clients seeking “deep deep” pressure bodywork.
